About Us
The JIPMER Alumni Association (JAA) is the official alumni organization of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. JIPMER is an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Our history
The JAA held its first meeting in 1978. Since then it has brought together generations of JIPMER graduates - doctors, nurses, scientists and allied health professionals - who now serve in India and across the world.
Annual Alumni Meet
The JAA hosts its Annual Meeting on the first weekend of August every year, when alumni return to the campus to reconnect with their teachers, batchmates and the institute.
Our objectives
- Keep JIPMER alumni connected with one another and with their alma mater.
- Encourage collaboration in academics, research and training.
- Mentor students and young doctors of JIPMER.
- Support students and residents with travel fellowships to present their research at national and international conferences.
- Strengthen institute-alumni ties and alumni participation in academic and institutional activities.
